Selling your GL? Why?

Hi Guys,
Have you ever considered selling your GL and why?
How long do you intend to hold on to your GL before you consider selling it?
What will you buy as replacement to your GL?

Wala lang survey survey lang.

2 years 3 months pa ko to go sa bayad ko so la pang plano i benta. also planning na gamitin ng mga anak ko. may college na ko na baka kailangan paminsan minsan mag dala ng kotse. but kung kunwari pwede ko na ibenta (wala ng utang sa banko), nasa list ng desired cars:
1. subaru XV
2. all new impreza
3. chevy trailblazer (new model coming)
4. cr-v (kahit na may recall)
5. civic
6. orlando
7. all new focus
8. vw golf (kung i launch dito)
hehehe. haba ng listahan ko no. dapat ata tumaya uli ako sa lotto

The only reason I will sell my GL is once it has outlived its purpose for my family's needs. As always, my drive to acquire a new car is always the family's need. We once owned a sub-compact car, a 12 year old car. It is old but reliable. When my first baby came, we realized that having a small car will no longer suffice.

GL definitely answered that need for now. Not too big and not too small. But family is growing, baby is already more than 3 years old. Soon, we would need a bigger car. One that can fit more people, bigger kids with their bags and perhaps barkadas.

I might consider Mini-Vans like:
Toyota Alphard
Kia Carnival
Kia Sedona
Dodge Caravan
Toyota Previa
Honda Odyssey
Chrysler Town & Country

Most I mentioned are way off my budget hahahaha. The most attainable for me is Kia Carnival and Honda Odyssey. But that would be 5 years more for now. GL is 3 years old this August, plus 5 more years perhaps before planning to replace it. By that time, there will be new models, so my options are not closed to the list I gave.

Haha kakatuwa naman parepareho pala tayo ng thinking. Kami din ng misis ko as long as the car meets its purpose we'll keep it. Pero we are also thinking of getting a small car for the daily driving needs kagaya ng i10 or eon or getz or kahit na 2nd hand na jazz para kamukha ni GL hehe.

I sold my GL because the 3-year warranty has already expired. My first choice for the replacement vehicle was Hyundai Tucson mainly because of the 5-year warranty. However, I was not sure how Hyundai in Iloilo maintains the vehicles. I got me a Nissan XTrail (4-wheel drive variant) instead. Nissan S&J of course.

Not bad na din for a 3 year car pero dami mo na din kasi nagawang upgrades parang nakakapanghinayang.

halos parehas kami ni sir yoogix ng thinking, as long it still serves the needs of my family hindi ko muna ibebenta. kung sakali naman na ngayon ko siya papalitan, gusto ko yung subaru xv.

My GL is 2008 model. Katatapos ko lang bayaran si GL last Aug, planning to sell it sana for new X-trail CVT kaya lang nasa 16k pa lang odometer that time and stock battery and tires pa rin, sayang! Besides, wala namang headache and happy naman kami sa performance nya. Planning to go vigan-laoag-pagudpud this christmas vacation ko.

nice one sir... balitaan niyo kami sa road trip niyo ha

We are now in Vigan. more than 400 kms traveled today. Unfortunately, my rear right wheel blew up while traversing Santol, La Union. Bili ako bukas ng new tire dito sa Vigan tomorrow kasi wall yung ruptured. Siguro nasira sa mga sharp edges ng mga ginagawang roads. Averaging 14 kpl sa hi way. Tomorrow ay Laoag naman kami the Pagudpod the following day. Very comfy si GL kaya di kami masyadong pagod ng family ko.

I went to Rapide for battery check few days back, OK pa rin daw yung stock battery ko so di pa rin ako nagpalit.

OT: @welscua, good thing you're driving slow when it happened. medyo hindi nga gaano maganda daan ngayon sa la union kasi dami ginagawa. i'm glad that you and you're family enjoyed the GL's ride. post pics sir ha, and have a safe trip.
