Sir, di pa ba napalitan yung steering coupling mo dati? Marami kasi nagcomplain na before about that and was replaced for free (underwarranty).

yung sakin napalitan na once yung steering coupling pero after a few months bumalik yung tok sound when descending or ascending on a inclined road ( sa akin eh yung garahe ko )

i twice reported it already to casa, d daw nila mareplicate ang incident kaya d nila marinig , problema ko pa kung pano iparinig sa kanila Mad

This happened to me before. My reliable mechanic Benjo from Nissan Shaw told me that proper tightening will solve it. After implementing the tightening on my GL's steering coupling, the noise never recurred again.

For the steering coupling, mine was replaced once but the "thug" sound appeared again, the technician just did a tightening on that part after that it never occured again. For the brakes talagang mabilis maupod specially if automatic transmission just like mine. My brake pads were replaced @ 40k PMS and then the brake shoe @ 50k PMS because it already causes a "pito" sound every time I step on the brake pedal, I also have my rotor disc refaced. For the brake pads I just used the orig nissan pads but for the brake shoe, I used bendix bonded shoes bought from NISWAY. Bendix is really a good alternative for those budget conscious owners like me without sacrificing quality, performance, safety, etc. For the lower arm suspension, I was able to have mine replaced during my last PMS prior to the expiry of my warranty.

For those who have problems with steering coupling, squeaking sound underneath you can go to Nissan North Edsa. They can fix it. Just a tip for all of those frustrated owners wanted to have it fixed.

lydemer/jedski

i had the steering coupling tightened again during my 35K PMS @ nissan westgate , unfortunately ganun pa din i still hear the thug sound.

Nissan North EDSA is a bit too far for me , is there any other nissan service center that can fix this ?

thanks

Hi Dbaker, I am already at 65k also. Planning to go to casa (westgate alabang) sometime August pa. Anyway, my Livi (GL) was diagnosed on her 50K at nissan UN in Manila to replace the following due to worn/torn out bushings:

1. Upper engine support
2. Transmission support
3. Lower arm L/R

The three parts above would cost around 6,000+ pesos. Labor is 3,000+ pesos. That is 9,000+ pesos in total. Pinag ipunan ko muna hehehe at ngayong August ko pa mapapagawa. Draw back ng torn bushings sa engine support, minsan nag vibrate makina lalo na pag naka idle, at ramdam ang vibrations mag launch from standstill, nagbababad yung gears 1 and 2, medyo matagal mag shift siguro dahil sa vibrations.

My steering coupling was replaced under warranty 2 years ago. Shock absorbers are still good, a few oil misting around the shocks are normal. Have them make sure na misting lang ang nakita nila at hindi Oil Leak sa shocks.

Will also have to replace the spark plugs. Last time I checked kasi during 60k change oil (sa labas ng casa) makalawang na.

From casa, sparkplugs would cost 580 pesos per piece. So thats 2,320. Isasabay ko na this August.

Front Brake Pads ko napalitan last year. Cost 4,500 pesos plus 300 pesos labor.

Sir,
1. Upper engine support- had it "re-bushing" at M-7 Auto Shop, Sta Mesa Mla; near UERM... cost P350
2. Transmission support - not yet done
3. Lower arm L/R - also not yet done

I came to know a store sa Banawe which exclusively sells Nissan Parts - Youngbros. Parts Centre, Inc., near E-Rod
  Tel # 712-0226/0210; 731-8889

Im recommending them... try to ask them

Front Brake Pads ko napalitan last month lang - ..Cost almost the same - P4784

(sorry for the late reply)

Buti na lang lang nabasa ko itong reply sir Dbanker, I was planning to go to casa next week. This is helpful information sir Dbanker. Will try to call them next week. May I ask bakit sir hindi pa napalitan yung lower arm bushing at transmission support? Hindi po nila kaya?

Ah ok sir Dbanker. Yung original kasi eh masyadong malambot, maaga para sa 3 and a half year nung nabasag or napunit yung goma.

Yung 6k na quote sakin is parts palang. labor is 3k sa tatlong parts na yun. so total should be 9+K sir. Thanks sir.

Just an update fellow loopers. I had my 65k change oil filter and top up at shell select. Current mileage is at 66,800 KM.

Shell Helix Ultra 1 litre - 600 pesos
VIC 224 oul filter - 255 pesos

Then just last Saturday I went the Nissan WestGate in Alabang to have the following fixed and/or replaced.

SPARK PLUG X4, 739 per pc
ENGINE SUPPORT LOWER LH
ENGINE SUPPORT LOWER RH
STABILIZER LINK BUSHING FRT LH X2
STABILIZER LINK BUSHING FRT RH X2
STABILIZER BAR BUSHING FRT LH
STABILIZER BAR BUSHING FRT RH
BRAKE FLUIDS
CABIN FILTER

And ordered the following to be inspected, cleaned, adjust first before replacing only if needed:

"Inspect ATF
- Replace if needed
238/PC X5, Drain - Refill only"
Clean, Adjust and inspect BREAKS

The following was performed to my GL.

PARTS:
Spark Plug (4pcs) ------------------------------2,556.02
Brake Fluid 3 Ltr. -------------------------------224.00
Bushing Stabilizer SC11, C11 (2pcs) -------------712.01
Rod Stabilizer (2 pcs) ---------------------------2,731.99
A/C Filter---------------------------------------2,222.00
Insulator Assembly Engine Support --------------2.905.00
Rod Assembly Torque ---------------------------4,601.99
ATF 4 litres -------------------------------------952.00
Less Discount ----------------------------------(1,690.51)

Replaced Stabilizer Rod Front LH/RH ---------------800.00
Open 4 Wheel, Checked Cleaned all Brakes ---------800.00
Replaced ATF ------------------------------------650.00
Replaced Brake Fluids, Microfilter ------------------650.00
Replaced Stabilizer Bar Bushing Front LH/RH-----------0.00
Less Discount ------------------------------------(566.00)
Workshop Supplies --------------------------------200.00

Total Labor ---------------------------------------5,299.00

Grand Total -----------------------------------20,513.56

Additional Inspection Requested by Owner: Humming Sound coming from front-under when speeding 50kph and above.
Findings: Front Wheel Bearing - wearing out.
Recommendation: Replacement Front LH/RH Wheel Bearing parts 16,200.00, Labor 1,800.00.

After the engine job, nawala na yung excessive engine vibrations during startup and at idle.

The engines purrs smoothly, response is much much better.

Eto yung mga ilang pinalitan na parts.
