15k pms Empty 15k pms

Post  yoogix Tue Aug 24, 2010 9:10 pm

Hi guys,

I had my GL's 15k pms. last 10k i used synthetic oil and that dramatically increased my fuel efficiency from 8km/l to now 10-11km/l on purely city driving and a bit of slex (bicutan-makati) everyday.

the following were performed during 15k pms:

1. replaced oil filter.
2. top up synthetic oil (purchased 1 liter and used only 1/3).
3. then the usual check upcleaning for 15k pms.
4. Since I noticed that the aircon fan is not blowing efficiently, I checked the aircon filter myself before going to casa. I had it replaced which cost 2,200 pesos. I think its time to replaced it, check below and see for yourself and let me know if I made the right decision:

i cant post a picture here Sad just look at this http://www.friendster.com/photos/3572491/2/524223830

Sir yoogix the filter is already black, i think its for replacement already. Mukang hindi na kaya ng cleaning un.

Pano nyo sir tinanggal ung filter? I also want to check if my aircon filter is already for replacement or for cleaning only.

TIA

Hi zbrando, I learned that from a forumer here also. You will have to remove the glove compartment and need a flashlight to look arround. The cabin airfilter is located just behind the firewall and behind the center console (HU), then sa baba pinaka dulo. You will see the handle of the cabin filter, then yun parang naka clip lang sya dun, press the clip then pull gently. Hope this helps. Smile

@aln:

From my experience, hindi nga advisable ang engine flush because it is petrol based and has corrosive elements. Nissan Iloilo does not use it. I'm not sure if they will use it even upon request of customer because I don't see it in their display rack. Better siguro na ipasok mo na lang ang GL mo before lunch break para maka drip for at least one hour before oil refill.

I suggest that the dealership re-train both the SA and cashier. He he...

@marckd1, ang layo ng difference sa labor. maybe because they "fixed" my smoke issue kaya mas mataas labor costs ko. made me think, pag warranty claims ba eh me charge pa din sa labor costs?

inconsistent talaga sa pricing... i just remembered, hindi nga pala nasabay yung smoke issue ko and steering coupling replacement during the 15k PMS. ibig sabihin yung labor costs ko is for the PMS alone. ang taas naman maningil ng Shaw kung ganon...

Had my 15K PMS at mantrade last Saturday morning. Entered the casa at 8AM and got it back by 1PM. Cost me 2.1K. Top up oil, cleaned and tuned up air filter, engine wash, the usual 15K checks and had my tires checked. The SA suggests that by 25K or 30K that I have my spark plugs replaced.

got NGO to quote me for a 15K PMS using fully synthetic oil. 4.9K daw. parang ang mahal considering that the 15K PMS is not a major check-up.
