I'm planning to buy Thule CrossBars and Basket Carriers for our out of town trips sana...

so i called Thule Pasong Tamo.. I was shocked sa price ng crossbars for Grand Livina

a whopping P13,430.00 and P6,800.00 for the STANDARD basket Carrier

So mga kaLOOP meron ba taung alternative jan na mas mura?

meron dati sa tsikot na nag-pakabit ng roof rack, i'm not sure kung andito na siya. mas cheaper siya kesa sa thule kaso bubutasan yung bubong

AFAIK ako unang GL owner nagpalagay roof rack. Pinakabit ko to sa Kid Audio sa Binan. Parang nasa 7,500 total expenses ko. Hindi nga lang Thule pero hindi rin elevo. Try ko take ng pics pag kinabit ko. Nakabaklas kasi ngayon.

may oem po ba na cross bar or roof rack? may abang ba talaga for our livina?

May nagsabi lang sa akin, totoo bang kailangan pang ipalagay sa rehistro o ikuha ng permit sa LTO kapag maglalagay ng roofrack sa sasakyan

sir, dapat nga nasa car registration mo yung roof rack. "Top Load" ata tawag nila dun eh. yung akin pinalagyan ko na kahit wala pang roof rack. nasa Php100 lang ata...

@Emm, binutasan yung bubong mo diba? me nilagay ba sila na rustproofing sa butas or screw?

Just got the latest crossbar prices from Thule Ortigas. The black steel crossbar set costs P16,850. The aluminum crossbar set is P20,350. 5% discount on cash transactions, all items have a 5- year warranty. No drilling required, clamps just attach to the roof pillars. The roof bike racks range from P7,500 to P12,500 each. They also have rear door mounted bike carriers, hitch mounted carriers.

medyo nag increase ata yung price. nagpaquote si marckd1 before (nov 2010):

are there any other alternatives?

There is an alternative: BNB Racks from the US. It's being sold in a bike shop along Roosevelt on the Del Monte side. Racks range from P2 to P3k. I've seen this installed on a Toyota Corolla. Not bad, and the owner attested to its good value for money.

i tried the travelife brand bike carrier on my livina. Crossbar and bike rack. It actually from a Honda Jazz pero kasya. Mas mura itong brand na ito and it looks good as well.
