some pics of my (very basic) setup:

the gear: HU is the asian version of the kenny excelon series.
i had it in stock but used before in my xty, the focal v15 polyglass & the jl audio xd 4ch amp are new


kdc-x7016 - budget HU w/ time alignment, x-overs, eq & other nice features, all tuning is on the HU


jl amp under seat (small compact class D amp, 217mm x 180mm x 52mm, 75wx4 rms@4Ω)
for front seps & sub, pass thru mode, fronts are passive for now


transferred my old jl audio 10" in a sealed box (temporary only, spare tire compartment enclosure in the works)


the box in the cargo area, 3rd row stowed position


a basic SQ, entry-level 2-ch + sub setup, promising results so far, but need more (seemingly endless) tuning hehe
coming up: need to resolve some deadening & resonance issues in the doors & tweeter placement in the stock location
isn't ideal - might do some mods on the stock pod grill as they are quite restrictive, & the sub enclosure for the back.

sure boss! next eb...but this is still 'experimental' status, puro mix & match w/ the gear i have & some that pop up from friends.
nways sana ok na by then.

tweeters were fit into the stock pods which have very small holes & large gaps.
they need to be put out and aimed properly i guess, so some modification might be necessary or maybe pods on the dash.

planned enclosure for the sub will utilize the spare tire compartment, similar to the one on the diyma GL build.

pero parang hinahanap ko pa rin tunog ng morel.

I'm also planning to put an amp and a subwoofer just like sa diy link na na post mo.
Yung sa tweeter ay di naka aim kung sa gilid lang ng door kaya if You'll plan to customize a
tweeter pod sa dash or sa pillar ay pasabay na lang kung meron kang kakilala.

for now pinalakihan ko muna yung butas ng stock na door sail pods to fit the
included grill - maganda kinalabasan kasi parang nakahinga ng ayos yung tweets.
noted bro - i'll keep you posted if the plan for a pillar mod pushes thru.
amp? post ko nga yung isa ko baka may magka-gusto hehe.

just finished the install of the sub enclosure today, mahirap yung woodworks
kasi kailangan i-maximize yung space for needed volume so hindi puwede mga
diretso lang na putol. am quite happy with the result parang tailored fit.

updated build pics:

tweets in sail pod location, took out the stock grill & after some cuts fitted the new grill,
highs came out much better & preserved the oem look


sub enclosure:

covered - sub off stealth / cargo mode


sub on - can still use the 3rd row when needed...



the top is only a cover, access to compartment still fine

good thing the leather(ette) grain matched the sidings, color is a shade lighter though...
might put industrial velcro on the matting so it can go together w/ the 3rd row movement

thanks sir - install done by jc car audio here in san juan (very near my place.)
RCAs & the sub cable ginamit ko pa rin yung luma, all the rest palit na lang.
ayos na ayos yan 2 na 10" kaya lang baka medyo kapos volume para sa 2 sub?
that is, kung ganitong porma din? ito kasi nasa 0.7 ~ 0.8 cubic lang - tumaas lang ng
kaunti sa dating box niya. pero sige sir go for it!

nakarining na naman kasi ako ng supremo piccolo yesterday...parang inaakit ako
halika dito hehehe ayaw na.
re vibration - added some more dynamat sa sidings, medyo kulang pa foam naman,
duda namin may kanipisan lang talaga yung plastics.

thanks pres aln - ok na yung basslink mo sir, ipa-covering mo na lang ng carpet or leatherette yung base
mounting then amplify mo kahit fronts lang para mas lumabas tunog. i mentioned sa kabilang thread
yung sa spin car na naka a/d/s - napa-wow! ako sa tunog, kaya maganda possibilities nyan.

yup sir marck, ok naman sya. ang kinain na space bale yung itim na plastic container sa ilaim ng cover.
hindi nga lang mai-center exactly yung sub or sa either side from kasi babangga na sya sa kahoy ng box
that is kung flush sa floor. it can be done actually sa fiberglass but sa woodworks matrabaho na masyado
or kung hindi tapat sa floor, itataas ng around 10 cm - like yung sa taga-malaysia, elevated yung sa 12" nya.

changed the headunit...alpine cda137



i liked the custom-color feature of the kenwood but this alpine has the edge
in tone, detail, & musicality due to a better DAC (digital-analog converter.)

install update...

door mod:
the GL door siding's stock speaker enclosure/grill is not centered, almost 1/3 of the woofer's diameter is covered.
this way the woofer is now more exposed giving a clearer, fuller sound.


a-pillar mod:
relocated the tweets to the pillars for soundstage height, depth & width, musical details also opened up.
the stock location on the sailpod is now closed up.

@voltz: thanks! as for the HU, it also has time align, x-overs, and has both graphic (7band) and parametric
(5band) EQ, but the ' master ' tuner prefers to use the parametric EQ due to a more customizable Q factor
and selectable frequency band option. sub is in a sealed enclosure. install/tuning: jc car audio

Kaya pala malinis ang gawa sir! magaling shop mo. frequent EMMA champs din!
yup parametric is the way to go kahit fewer bands, pero mas mapipili mo yun freqs na kelangan adjust and that Q (slope) plays a very important role sa effect kun gusto mo short bursts or extended burst (needed for cleaner accurate sound).

baka sir pede mo i-PM quote nila for the following:

> front door deadening
> pillar mod (did they use and modify your stock pillars or created the whole FG?)
> door mod
> sub sealed enclosure
> wires & labor

do you have plans of trying to compete na sa EMMA?
