im getting a 10-11kms/li on city driving and 12kms/li on mixed city and hi-way driving. i guess kaya ng 14-15kms/li pag hi-way. btw, my GL has a manual tranny...

what's your consumption?

8-9 city
10-11 Hi-way

mine is AT

pure city - 8 kms/liter
mixed city/highway - 10-12 kms/liter
pure highway - 14 kms/liter (best record so far)

im using ordinary oil (not synthetic)
shell premium gasoline
w/ 3-7 passengers
35psi tire gauge

try using synthetic oil, as per our co-looper from 8 kms/liter naging 10-11 kms/liter FC nya when he started using synthetic oil

city driving 7 to 8km/lt

pure highway - 14 to 15km / liter kaya ni Liv

size 16" mags @ 205/55s, 36 psi

I guess may tulong yun skirts / spoilers / and magswheels sa aero dynamic ni GL sa highway.

Yun engine oil and spark plugs ko eh yun free na bigay sa akin ng dealer ko, hangang 20k mileage free kasi.

AT GL ko.

Changed aircon setting from 2/4 to max for about 20Km.

HUD comes in handy when maintaining RPM to 2.5 and below plus the 'beep' at 100KPH.

Forgot to add, my GL is AT, aircon fan speed for both trips is 1, 'sagad' when re-fuelling.

First long trip to Clark last week, 11.5Km/L, with hataw to 140 and 5 passengers.

Sunday last week from last gas station at NLEX to Commonwealth, 13.5Km/L., 5 passengers.

City driving na puro traffic, 7.5Km/L, 2 passengers.

Last Saturday I went 8. Sunday si misis nag 9.7. 5 passengers for both days.

Thanks I'm expecting nga max. 14 as per Nissan web site for AT. Gulat ako. Baka kung medyo payat pa ko baka nag 20+Km/L. hehe...

I'm having 1K PM this Saturday. Tanong ko kung ano yun current oil. Kung di pa synthetic i-upgrade ko. Malakas kasi sa gas pag traffic. Mukhang 7.5KPL ulit ako this week.

Yes sir, fully-synthetic na. Pinalitan last Saturday. Ang lupit ng FC pag rektahan Gulat si esmi parang di gumalaw yung needle ng fuel meter.

yes, maganda talaga synthetic na oil, kaya pag bakasyon ko ay papalitan ko ulit ng synthetic oil sa 10,000 PMS.

Just a few days back I requested NMPI to conduct a test drive to verify the Fuel Consumption of my GL .
The followings are the condition when we conduct the test drive:
• NGL-RME / AT
• No. Passengers : 4 consisting of 3 Adults ( ave weight = 70 kg) + 1 child ( 45 kgs )
• Time of duration : 11: 48 Am to 2:41 PM
• Top up fuel ( full tank ) at Petron Station after Susanna Heights ( SLEX) for starting point
• Top up fuel ( full tank ) at Petron Station after Susanna Heights ( SLEX) upon completing the route
• Fuel : Petron Super Unleaded
• Route: Petron Station - SLEX – Turbina – Star Hiway – Star hiway – Talisay – Star hiway – Turbina – Slex –Susanna Height – Petron Station.
• Shifting of transmission from “D” to “N” mode in some instances**
The following are results :
A. Time Start : 11:48

NOTE: prior to this test run, the average KPL is just only 7 Km / liter. It seems that one factor here is the shifting of ” D” mode to” N” mode ( like a free wheeling mode). Am not sure if this practice of shifting from N to D / D to N is ok or not ??. any info about this??


TIPS as provided by NMPI staff:
A. While re-fueling, we can ask the gasoline boy to press only the stage “1” of the fuel Nozzle. In this case, the fuel flow rate is quite slower as compared to the stage “3” which they normally do if we do not ask them to press only for the stage”1”. These 3 stages, as they explained were related to the Flow Rate of Fuel from the nozzle to our tank. The higher stages, the faster it will flow and there might be more bubbles that will filled in our tanks?..so less fuel we will actually get.

B. Re-fuel during cool temperature of the day. The volume of the gasoline is directly proportional to its temperature.

I went to Apalit (fully fueled) and back today which covered a total of 138 kilometers traveled registering in the odometer reading. I had it refueled again afterward this PM at Petron White Plains and only consumed 5.65 liters which translates to 24.42 km/liter. Average speed in Nlex was around 80-90 km/hour. Not bad with 4 passengers on board, 3 adults and 1 child. Aircon was on all the time. My GL pala is automatic.

nice FC!!! ako kaya ilan sa M/T ko? hindi ko pa kasi na try sa straight hi-way without traffic...

Went to Quezon last Sunday morning and went back to Manila around lunch time. It took me almost 2hrs to go there and another 2hrs going back here. I traveled 200kms and consumed more or less 12.5 liters of Shell Unleaded gasoline. With synthetic oil on my engine I'm expecting to have probably around 18-20kpl but I only got 16kpl. Its not bad compare to my previous record of 14kpl but its better if I get more.

Do you guys have any suggestion or tips on how will I increase my mileage per liter of gasoline? Probably driving habits or technique on how to increase mileage, especially for those who already experience more than 20kpl..

11.5 - 12 KPL city driving 24km one-way, 20,000 km. It has improved from 8 KPL @ 5K, to 9 KPL @ 10K, to 11 @ 15K, and now 12 @ 20K. If this continues, will be doing 28 KPL @ 100K...hahahaha! Seriously, just maintain a steady acceleration and minimize quick starts.

Went to Baguio last weekend, consumed more or less 41 liters in around 580kms. That's more than 14kms/liter.

Sarap paglaruan nung overdrive, siguro nga kaya pa tumaas nyan kung nagdahan dahan ako paakyat kaso nagenjoy ako kakapindot and si erpats mejo matulin din kya i need to catch-up.

Sarap i-drive ng GL natin ng long drive, not so small and not so big so tama talaga size nya. And I can say na tamang size ng engine ung nilagay nila.

Try nyo guys and lalo nyo maappreciate si GL. Even your passengers will.

mga sir pag brandnew ang gl talaga ba na malakas sa gasoline mine is 320k pa lang sa odo ko ang fc ay 6.7 kilometers per liter is this normal?
