2 DIN DVD Headunit from Tsikot

attend ako sa eb para actual na makita ng fellow loopers ang head unit. Medyo bitin yung stock speakers kaya pinakabit ko yung old polk audio ko during the installation ng head unit. so far so good.

@aln, wala pa din akong antenna sa radio. Hindi ako mkadaan sa shop nila Jedi sa sobrang busy.

Sige Sir lets check it sa EB.. Sayang nga punta kami ng Baguio this weekend, gamit na gamit sana un..hmmp

Yup, excited ako sa akyatan.. Gusto ko kase ginagamit ung overdrive, feeling ko na ka NOS ako..hehehe

haha, yan ang hindi ko na experience sa M/T GL ko. wala kasi napipindot eh....

Is that a GPS function? what does it do?

skin lang siya that has a digital speedometer and altitude which gets its data from the GPS. pwede mag-lagay ng functions sa mga buttons pa like yung navigation etc.

its easy sir, can you access the setup for your navigation? we have a different HU so im not sure what yours look like. the nav setup is where you choose the path where your GPS application is. btw, the HU should be in WinCE

Sa mga nagpakabit po ng bagong HU outside of casa paano po ang warranty ng sasakyan ninyo? Grabe kasi ang mahal sa casa 60k daw for a DVD HU with GPS tapos 24k ang headrest monitor. Grabeng taga nila.

Void daw po ang warranty ng electricals sa Audio area once splicing of wires are made, pero there are HU that is made for Nissan and doesn't need any splicing of wires. Talagang taga po ang price sa casa and same din mavovoid din ang warranty pag sa kanila ka nag pa install.

I also would like to ask any of the members if there is a shop you can recommend or had an aftermarket HU installed , somewhere in Las Pinas or Alabang or BF area, i am unable to find one near me that has managed to install one on a GL.

I actually asked already the tsikot.com branch in Philam but the installer says he hasn't done one on a GL yet. Needless to say i would prefer a shop with experience na specifically for the Livina.

I managed to have one installed today at the tsikot.com shop in taguig. This is the model Lightning Lab 2 DIN DVD . Cost is 16,500 only with free rear camera and installation.I opted to have it installed there na lang para mas malapit sa area ko

sir jedi was very easy to talk with , he gives advises and recommendations with no BS. As with his installer , he seems to really know he's way around the livina already, installation took just about 2 1/2 hours for the 2DIN dvd and Rear Camera.

My initial review for this model
PROS
* Fits nicely on the livina's standard 2 DIN
* An assortment of connectivity and media options makes this model really a bang for the buck
* the display is very, clear managed to play both DVD movie and an .avi file from a USB drive
* GPS seems accurate though not sure if asa labas na ako Manila if accurate pa din

CONS
* The audio options are limited and mejo bitin ang sounds sa stock speaker ( i guess this calls for a separates upgrade yikes )
* somehow i can't seem to figure out how to turn off the radio or tv when im not using it.
* would be great if i can change skin or even the background image on the unit easily, i'm still researching how to do it.

The free rear camera is quite exposed so needless to say , madali sya matatangal kung makursunadahan, i opted to have it installed na rin para may abang na ng wire, i guess i should order the na lang the same model that sir chualie has for the rear camera. Although mejo nakakailang pala pag the rear view is displayed on the LCD while backing up hehe

Wow! Winner Sir! Is there an option to change the bottom color /display other than blue? Pwede din ba personalize yun opening logo? Ok sir yung nabile ko sa ebay na backup camera concealed sya. Congrats Sir!

Try pressing the power button for more than 3 seconds para ma off yung radio or TV.

@pistolero, ganda ng 2 din mo sir. bagong unit na siguro yan. ung sa amin ni marckd1 eh lightning lab din pero naka-labas yung unit kasi motorized eh. pwede kaya trade-in since under warranty pa din yung akin? bwehehehe

Thanks sir! unfortunately there is no option to change the button color as well as the opening logo. Actually i asked the installer about this already, he said the same na wala option although i think its possible pero baklasin cguro the front face and change the LEDs/BULB there. The personalization option on this unit is quite limited but ill google around baka may ibang way to skin the interface.

Also the power button closes the Unit itself, the instance is that when i have both gps and radio or TV on , and i would like to just need to turn off the radio or tv but would like the GPS to still be running. Yun lang ang mejo hassle parang there's no OFF or standby button for the radio or TV ( or d ko pa lang mahanap pa lol )

Well after a few hours of testing and driving around today i conclude that i would need a new speaker system

@pistolero, oo nga eh... kinukulit ko si jedi na trade ko yung akin sa bagong unit, hehehe... you will definitely need a new speaker lalo na kung wala pa separates yung stock mo. pero one thing that i noticed when i replaced mine was that parang mas gusto ko tumunog yung stock na HU. dun kasi sa stock HU natin controlled mo yung bass and treble. dun sa bagong HU parang bitin sa bass and treble eh, ewan ko lang din baka kulang lang ako sa tono. pwede din na kailangan ng AMP, bwehehehe...

So Sir LOOPers be reminded that if you are planning to upgrade your Head unit, might as well pick the fix 6.2inch instead of the motorized 7inch. mas sure kasi ang fit nun fix 6.2inch unlike the motorized 7inch na iba-iba ang motorized sliding system so you are not assured na sakto ang fit nya at hindi naka usli. Once kasi na e install na, dun mo pa lang makikita kung fit o hinde by that time you can no longer change the HU that u purchase kasi nagalaw na wirings nito.

yep, as much as possible get those units na hindi motorized. well my motorized HU served me well, sulit na kasi me GPS na kasama. yun lang nga naka-usli siya
