Hi Guys,

Have you encountered yung maingay ang preno kapag paatras ang andar ninyo?
No time pa po bumalik sa casa.

Thanks.

I am also experiencing this anusual sounds perhaps the same sounds of uwwweeeiiiingguk but hindi paatras, everytime na mabagal ako at medyo pababa yung road. Example, when I am coming out of a gasoline station and I am waiting my turn to get on the road. But, I dont take this serious as this issue is not alarming to me.

Maybe the alignment of the drum brake is not ok or the mechanic did not do a good enough job to clean the brakes. Another factor is that your brake pads may be worn out already and needs replacement. I suggest you bring it back to your dealer to evaluate your issue with the brakes. The issue with noisy brakes can have a big impact to your braking distance especially if your brake pads are already worn. Oo nga pala is it consistent or it disappears after driving a few minutes?

Tapos that happens kapag paatras lang kapag forward motion kotse walang ingay.

Sir, are you driving an automatic? I am experiencing this also even from my previous cars na automatic at pati sa Livina ko. Other good comparison eh yung squeeky sound ng door pag hindi well oiled ang bisagra.

Sir automatic po livina namin. Yung description ninyo ng sound ganun nga. Before kasi matic din yung kotse namin pero di ako naka encounter ng noisy breaks except nung nasira talaga kasi nag leak yung goma sa drum brake.

Hi all, sharing some information about brake pads. I am not sure which category below our GL's OEM brake pads fall. Mine is noisy when half pressed regardless if moving backward or forward. Make sure you have mechanics check if calipers are not loose.

On a side note, there are many types of replacement brake pads out there with different brand technology. But based on own experienced, the longest lasting brake pads are OEMs, it lasts me 3 years before needing to replace them, but it costs more than twice the price of replacement brake pads which usually lasts me a year only. the lifetime of our brake pads may vary depending on the style of driving, load conditions and weather.

Safe driving everyone Smile

Types of brake pads

There are four general types of brake pads for cars and trucks:

Semimetallic: This formula, containing about 30 to 65 percent metal, typically includes chopped steel wool or wire, iron powder, copper or graphite mixed with inorganic fillers, and friction modifiers that bond all the ingredients together. These pads are more durable and have excellent heat transfer, but also wear down rotors faster, can be noisy, and may not perform optimally at low temperatures.

Nonasbestos organic: Sometimes listed as organic or NAO, this type of pad is made from fibers, such as glass, rubber, carbon, and Kevlar, with filler materials and high-temperature resins. These pads are softer and create less noise, but they wear faster and create more dust.

Low-metallic NAO: These are made from an organic formula mixed with small amounts (10 to 30 percent) of copper or steel to help with heat transfer and provide better braking. With the added metal, there is more brake dust and they may be slightly noisier.

Ceramic: These are composed of ceramic fibers, nonferrous filler materials, bonding agents, and possibly small amounts of metal. Lighter in color and more expensive than other brake pads, ceramic pads are cleaner and quieter, and offer excellent braking characteristics without wearing down the rotors.

Noisy brakes when backing up Empty Brake noise

Hi guys, my GL is also having this kind of brake noise especially when the car came from a stop like during traffic situation.
Once you apply brake and then release gradually to move slowly, the annoying noise comes out. During "release" only and not
when applying brake.
Same brake noise when getting off from the parking lot after a night's rest. Just like rubbing a baloon with your finger.
GL Elegance is still under warranty (2.5yrs old/25K km) and asked for a brake pad replacement from my casa but they wouldnt. Have
complained several times also, they even cleaned it but still the noise is there and they really dont wanna replace it. Just a few months after
delivery of our GL, the noise is there already since then up to this writing.
"Ganun daw talaga pag automatic". Both nissan shaw and mantrade is saying this. Is this really normal? I have driven other brands but
did not experience this kind of problem. And I am not convinced with the casa's explanation. Can anyone shed a light on this matter pls?
Which nissan casa do you recommend? By the way, aside from that brake noise, there's also a whistling sound which I believed is a metal
to metal contact ( came out after around 20K+ km/intermittent only). Several times have brought to casa for evaluation but I dont know why
they couldnt hear it though the sound is so obvious.

hi sir, sa Shaw ako nagpapagawa and si Chair Lydemer. so far ok naman ang mga recommendations nila sa akin. yung GL ko nga eh me ingay sa ilalim and they noticed na umiingay once nag-engage ang ang aircon so they decided to replace the compressor and alternator na. look for ryan o zaldy sa SA and ask for Benjo (mechanic) to have a look again. tell them that you know Allan and Gilles from LOOP.

The noise you are hearing is actually the friction caused by the brake pads and disks during the slow release of the brakes while the automatic transmission is still engaged. The stress placed on the brakes is tremendous as the transmission is forcing the wheels to budge but the brake is fighting it and once you release it slowly, the semi metallic brake pads will still bite the disks, generating the noise. Now if you are a smooth driver like me and easy on the brakes then this noise will be apparent regardless of whichever car you drive with high torque engines. From experience, my dad's 2007 sta fe and my friend's montero generates the same noise explained. The amount of time that you need to press on the brake while the automatic transmission is engaged is about 3 - 5 seconds. Anything beyond that may cause tremendous stress to your GL's torque converter and may cause it to prematurely fail overtime so you need to put it into neutral.

This noise is however less predominant in lower displacement vehicles which have lower torques.
